Supporting technical and vocational skills for the future economy

In a global economy shaped by digital transformation and the transition to net zero, technical and vocational skills are more vital than ever. This session focuses on strengthening technical and vocational skills in the context of net zero and the digital transformation, with a particular emphasis on how skills competitions and assessment can serve as drivers of excellence and innovation. The ability to rapidly adapt skills and ensure their recognition is key to building inclusive and future-ready economies.

We explored which tools best support agile skills development and how skills competitions and international assessments contribute to raising standards and fostering innovation. The discussion also looks at how inclusive partnerships across governments, industry, education and civil society can strengthen collaboration and ensure diverse voices help shape the future of skills systems.
