Juan Pablo Davila is the Head of the Skills Development, Entrepreneurship, and Fair Production Unit at UNIDO. Since joining UNIDO in 2008, he has led technical assistance projects in quality infrastructure, supply chains, innovation, skills development, entrepreneurship, and green hydrogen across developing countries. With over 18 years of experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring national, regional, and international technical assistance programs and partnerships, he has expertise in quality infrastructure, competitiveness, skills development, innovation, and climate technologies.
He began his professional career as a manufacturing engineer in the automotive industry within the multinational private sector. He then transitioned to the public sector, holding various positions, including Director of Industrial Development, Director of Economic Information, and Director of Foreign Investment in northern Mexico. Additionally, Juan Pablo contributed to the academic sector as a part-time professor for a master’s degree program, covering topics such as operations research, optimization, and the global economy.
Juan Pablo holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITESM (Mexico, 1997) and a Master’s degree in Technological Innovation from CentraleSupelec (France, 2001). He has also completed executive courses on Blockchain Technologies, Business Innovations, and Clean Energy Solutions from MIT. Additionally, he is a lead auditor for ISO 9001.
