Vesna Andelić is the Assistant Director for Vocational Education and Training Development at the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE), Croatia’s national institution for planning, development, organization, implementation, research, and improvement of the VET and adult education system.
She holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. She continued her professional education in operating systems, automation, computer networking, and EU projects. Her main areas of interest are quality assurance in education and the implementation of
digital solutions.
Her expertise covers VET policy, the development of occupational standards, qualifications, and curricula, and the use of European tools and instruments for VET. In her role, she works closely with a wide network of VET schools and stakeholders and applies her knowledge through European projects that support the development and improvement of the VET system.
She contributed to the development of a new model of continuing professional development for Croatian teachers in 2018, leading the planning and analysis of research into teacher needs. She was responsible for designing questionnaires, conducting interviews, and analysing results. From 2018 to 2022, she played an active role in a major ESF project to develop new occupational and qualification standards and vocational curricula in Croatia, researching labour market needs and aligning education with them.
