Jiren LIU holds a PhD in Computer Applications. As the founder of Neusoft, he currently serves as its Honorary Chairman, concurrently holding the positions of President of the Liaoning Federation of Industry and Commerce and Executive Director of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges. His previous roles include member of the World Economic Forum’s Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals and member of the APEC Business Advisory Council. He formerly held positions as Vice President of Northeastern University, Vice Chairman of the China Software Industry Association.
Dr LIU earned his master’s degree in 1982 and conducted doctoral research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology Computer Research Institute in the United States from 1986 to 1987. In 1987, he became China’s first PhD graduate in Computer Applications. He established Neusoft in 1991.
Dr LIU has led numerous major research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, National 863 Program, Torch Program, as well as initiatives for the former State Economic and Trade Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and former Ministry of Metallurgy. His pioneering achievements in computer networks, multimedia technology, and software engineering have earned him national honors including “Outstanding Chinese PhD with Significant Contributions”, “Trans-Century Outstanding Talent”, and “Young and Middle-Aged Scientific Worker with Exceptional Contributions”.
